Agnes All Natural Grill - Black Bean Burger

Lunch time is the perfect time to grab a veggie burger, and downtown Agnes All Natural Grill has you covered with their black bean burger. It comes topped with mayo, lettuce, onion, and tomato with your choice of whole wheat bun or their World Famous CoCo Bread. What is CoCo bread, you might ask?  It's a homemade Caribbean bread made with a hint of coconut milk and tastes similar to Hawaiian bread. Whole wheat is fine and all, but you'd be nuts not to try this burger with CoCo bread!

Agnes All Natural Grill Now Open in PNC Center
Downtown’s newest restaurant gives customers a chance to experience Caribbean cuisine without having to book a cruise. Agnes All Natural Grill, previously located on Keowee Street, now is open in its new location in the lower level of the PNC Center. Tennille Carpenter-Brown, director of marketing and promotions, said the space was ideal because of its central location downtown. "The surrounding environment seemed supportive for future growth," she said.

Owners Jose and Nicole Estremera want the restaurant to be a place where visitors can relax during a busy work day. The restaurant is named after Jose’s mother, who had a passion for food and taught Jose how to cook. Jose serves as head chef.

The restaurant now is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. In the future, hours will be expanded to 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Agnes will add delivery, catering, curbside pickup and other services. Keith Daniels was not surprised to hear that low pay was the No. 1 workplace stressor listed in the 2012 Work Stress Survey conducted by Harris Interactive.

“Nine times out of 10, the pay that we get is not what we want and the job that we have is not our dream job,” Daniels said.

If the 35-year-old had the income and his way today, he would be a musical producer making hits for rap artists like Jay-Z, Ludacris and Eminem. For now, Daniels is a manager at Agnes All Natural Grill on North Keowee Street in Dayton.

“Stress is being a multi-tasker,” said Nicole Estremera, 31, who co-owns Agnes All Natural Grill with her husband. Jose. Nicole works alongside her husband, 38, at the restaurant while juggling her full-time human resources job. Jose is also a real estate investor. The couple has two children, ages 12 and 8.

Fresh, healthy, delicious… fast? Oh yes! Innovative fast food meets wholesome and affordable Caribbean dishes at Agnes All Natural Grill, located on 1438 North Keowee Street. Agnes All Natural Grill revamps the old idea of drive-throughs and walk-ups and brings people speedy, wallet-friendly dishes with a much healthier twist. Agnes’ All-Natural Grill offers healthy-and-fast dining

    By Tom Baker

Every once in a while, my wife, in a sarcastic-but-clearly-serious tone will ask: “So when are you taking me to Jamaica?”  We laugh about it for a moment (well, I do at least), and then continue on with our day.  So when the editor of the DCP called me and asked if I had heard of this healthy, Caribbean-influenced fast food joint just north of downtown, I had no idea that I’d have an opportunity to ever-so-slightly-and-briefly satisfy our yearning for island life.
